Description: The Y250 (250mm from centreline) vortex is the largest flow structure shown here. It is generated due to the pressure difference between the center-section and the wing. The low-pressure vortex core guides the air into vehicle-floor, potentially increasing downforce. At the edge of the front wing, the curved elements deflect incoming air away from the front tyres to reduce pressure drag. The contours on the streamlines and wing are velocity magnitude and static pressure respectively.
