Storm water tank simulation

Storm water tank computational fluid dynamics simulation carried out by NING Research Engineers. Simulation based design modification are implemented to minimize swirling flow in suction pumps to prolong operation life.

In the simulation, the pump suction mass outflow is initially set to operate at twice the rate of storm water mass inflow and dried up the tank with the help of a drain pit located in the sump. NING Research engineers have cautiously implemented the essential physics to capture the flow behavior accurately while excluded unnecessary details in order to reduce computational time for the parametric transient analysis. As the result, the free water surface correctly replicates the drying process and the project is delivered on time.
