Fire and explosion structural analysis of FPSO
BW Offshore, a Norwegian FPSO provider that operates the world's second largest FPSO fleet, is now a business partner of NINGResearch.
NINGResearch is given a contract to conduct fire and explosion structural analysis on BWO Barossa FPSO using finite element method that involves high temperature and impulse loading and melted and high strain nonlinear material.
The Barossa FPSO will be built in South Korea and Singapore before being towed and permanently moored at the field located 300 kilometres offshore Darwin in northern Australia where it will produce and process natural gas for export via pipeline to Darwin LNG with a capacity up to 800 million standard cubic feet per day (MMSCFD) of gas and design capacity of 11,000 barrels per day of stabilised condensate.
