Pipe explosion analysis using fluid structure interaction (FSI)

Fluid structure interaction (FSI) simulation of pipe explosion. The first portion of the simulation shows compressed gas gushed out from a cracked joint and hit the flange cover at high velocity. The second portion of the simulation shows deformation of the flange cover due to high impact from the escaped compressed gas. The explosion analysis used fluid structure interaction technique which linked up finite element analysis (FEA) and computational fluid dynamics (CFD) numerical methods.
